On the Throne

God has truly been speaking to both of us through His word and His spirit.  Earlier this week, I found a piece of paper that had Matthew 19:26 (CEV) "Jesus looked straight at them and said, "There are some things that people cannot do, but God can do anything."  I know that Jesus is looking straight into our circumstance and situation and saying that God can do all things in it.  In church during worship I felt the spirit of the Lord speak "If I am on the throne laughing at my enemies, imagine what I am doing for yours.  Fear not forI have overcome the one who is against you and have won the battle for you."  I praise God that He is sitting on the throne!  He is not standing, shouting at my enemies.  He is sitting.  Praise God!

I am eager to see what He is going to do next!

Recently I have found myself going through some changes in my life. Some of those changes have been pleasant like a healthier diet, being home more often, etc. But there are some that have just torn me to pieces like making the decision to distance myself from people who subtract or divide in my life, changes in positions, removing people from the list of associates in business, etc. What is interesting is that as I follow God and adhere to His word, I have a sense of peace about it. In Colossians 3:15, Paul wrote “let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace.” I have witnessed that as the peace has ruled as an “umpire (see in AMP)” in my heart, it calls the things that need to be out or removed from my life. It isn’t easy, as my wife can testify that we are constantly in a state of ripping away the old and replacing the new. It takes time, energy, and emotion that sometimes we just simply don’t have. But God’s grace is sufficient. He left us with that thought in John 14:27 about a “peace” that He left with us, not a peace that anyone else in the world could understand. This peace has been a comfort when we have been torn inside. We know God is working and He is doing a new thing. But sometimes that new thing, take a long time to come to pass.
